Currently, international travel to China still remains highly restricted, and the outbreak of COVID-19 continues to create uncertainties for retail brands in their offline expansion and sourcing plans. In view of the situation, the organizers have decided, after careful consideration, to postpone the 7th edition of C-star (Shanghai’s International Trade Fair for Solutions and Trends all about Retail), originally scheduled to be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from August 31st to September 2nd, 2021. The new date and planning will be announced in the coming weeks.
“Witnessing normally a high percentage of international exhibitors and visitors, we decide to postpone C-star 2021 during the special period in order to gain more time on travel normalization, get well prepared to welcome the fully recovered retail industry and to build a higher quality sourcing and communication platform.” said by Marius Berlemann, General Manager of Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd..
For the next edition, C-star will continue to focus on innovative solutions in five dimensions: Shop Fittings & Store Design, Visual Merchandising, Retail Lighting, Smart Retail Technology and Retail Marketing. The innovative supporting programme, including Retail Stage, H!Tech Stage, ReTailor Hub, EuroShop RetailDesign Award China, Retail Technology Award China as well as Visual Merchandising Challenge will offer the opportunity for visitors to discuss hot topics with excellent solution providers, leading retail brands, shopping mall executives and academic experts.
In the next stage, Messe Düsseldorf Shanghai will organize a series of offline networking events to share retail industry insights and build deep connections. Meanwhile, the organizer will continue to work with trade media, associations, research institutes and the EuroShop Trade Fair Family to collect the latest and most comprehensive retail information for retail professionals and publish on C-star official website, WeChat and LinkedIn so that retailers can keep up to date with the latest trends in the retail industry.

2017-09-27May 15 saw the closing day of the inaugural edition of C-star, Shanghai's International Trade Fair for Solutions and Trends all about Retail. On May 13-15 retail professionals from all around the world came to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) to see the latest retail technologies and trends for the Chinese market at C-star. The first edition of C-star featured an exceptionally high degree of professionalism - both exhibitor- and visitor-wise. On a net exhibition space of 5000 square meters, C-star featured 162 exhibitors from 23 countries. Visitor-wise C-star also surpassed everyone's general expectations. Despite being held for the first time, an astonishing number of 5721 visitors came to visit the show during the last three days. This further fosters C-star's status of being China's most international retail show.
2017-09-27More than half of C-star's first edition has already passed and tomorrow will see the final day of the show. The past two show days have been full of exciting events and opportunities for retail professionals to both grow their business and expand their knowledge. 2017-09-27The first show day of C-star comes to an end and featured numerous highlights. In the morning, the much anticipated C-star Retail Conference officially kicked off and gave retail professionals the chance to listen to speeches of industry peers from leading retailers such as Beijing Capital Retailing Group, Montblanc, METRO, Walmart. At this industry summit, VIP retailers like H&M, Mango, Nike or Rewe were present as attendees. Visitor masses also flooded the Designer Village, C-star's special exhibition area with a focus on Shopfitting and Store Design. The fact that C-star is the only retail trade fair in China with an area especially dedicated to Shopfitting and Store Design makes it a trade fair of one of its kind. 2017-09-27Only one day left until the first edition of C-star, EuroShop's official satellite event in China, will kick off and take place at hall N1 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from May 13-15. However, even today - one day before the official start of the show, C-star is already going into the city by introducing top retailers from Europe and North America at the C-star Retail Tour. This full day guided tour introduces foreign retail executives to Shanghai's most famous shopping malls, such as the Zendai Himalayas Center, the ifc Mall, the Lane Crawford Warehouse or the iapm Mall on Huaihai Road, Shanghai's famous shopping boulevard.
